This book is about a young boy and is set in war time.At the begining he is at an orphanage run by nuns. His parents, who were book sellers and were very fond of books, put him there so he was safe from the nazis. He was pretending to be catholic. One day he was looking out the window and he sees some strange men burning books. He couldn't believe his eyes. Then he had a great (and exciting) idea. He decided to go and save his parents and the books that are being burnt. On his journey he saves a girl from a burning house and they get caught up in the crowds. They end up in hiding. Then, the harsh nazis put then on a mysterious train and they don't know what there destination is...
Can they escape???
I really enjoyed this book and even thought it was sad at times. I would recommend this book to years 9 and over, boys and girls but younger people may also enjoy it.I would rate this book 4.5 out of 5 for an excellent story.
